John Beasant III is an American choreographer, Artistic Director of John Beasant and Dancers, and is an Assistant Professor of Dance at the University of Houston. Hailing from Denver, Colorado, he is an MFA graduate of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. John has worked as a professional dance artist and collaborator with notable New York City-based dance companies such as Doug Varone and Dancers (2001-2011), the José Limón Dance Company, Elisabeth Motley/Motley Dance and was also a founding company member of Andrea Miller’s Gallim Dance. Mr. Beasant’s choreography has been commissioned by various companies and universities across the globe, two credits that include the Compañia de Cámera Danza (UNA) of Costa Rica and the Juilliard School for the Performing Arts. He has made dances, taught, and performed throughout the United States as well as Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
